Here's some sweet shots of our set, courtesy of Thrashley. These are my favorites, but visit our flickr to see the whole roll.

A great big THANKS

Thank you everyone who came out to our first show! I apologize for the technical difficulties at the beginning, but I hope it was still a hoot for all yall!
I think we played pretty well- nothing really crashed and burned. I did forget a few measures in one of our songs, but we managed to push on through. Everybody noticed, though, cause Dave and Adam turned around and looked right at me. =) Mac might have too- I can't really remember. I DO remember getting sweatier than I've ever been, which is a very very good thing.

Anyhoo, I'll post pics from the show as soon as I can.

Thanks to: Adam Smith, John, the drummer from the Invisible Hand (I didn't catch your name!), Brad, Jonny, Ben, Terry, Adrienne, Teresa, John B., Sean, Barbara, Dave Klein, Matt, Brittany, the entire UVa Chemistry Department, Thrashley (thanks for taking pictures!), Big T, Christen, Michelle and the Schnitzel folk (thanks for getting Dave to the show- just in time), Chris, Thomas (thanks for the string change, dude!), Julie, Jen, that guy from Dust, the Heckler, and everyone who I forgot to mention.

the FINAL SETLIST!

ok folks, I think we've got the final line-up of songs, unless some divine inspiration hits us tomorrow night. Here goes:

Dead Batteries (aka in the land of Dead Batteries, the overheating Buick is king)
Release the Hounds
The Solo-Dating Game
Kung Fugazi Osbourne
Ultraviolet Rain
Constellation Prize
Meet my Fiance Beyonce

It's gonna be a short set- we'll time it tomorrow night and see just how short. Bed Pan-o-rama kind of got butchered up and placed into the new version of Meet My Fiance Beyonce. We might be able to pull together a new one we got in the works, of which the working title is "Sassy Skeleton", but we've only got two 1 hour-long practices left before the show.
I'm working on a t-shirt design that spells out TAPEWORMS with artillery. We were thinking about going to the thrift store and just buying a bunch of t-shirts and screen printing over whatever's already on them, so each one would be different.
Sweet! The countdown is ON!

a couple of practices...

Hey kids, I've been pretty sick for the past few days, but we still managed to get a couple practices in, and things are looking really good!

Here's the songs that we'll probably play the 21st:

Release the Hounds
The Solo-Dating Game
Ultraviolet Rain
Kung Fugazi Osbourne
Dead Batteries
Bed Pan-o-rama
Constellation Prize
Meet My Fiance Beyonce

The first 5 are pretty much done, but the last 3 need a lot of work/reworking. I wonder how many songs we'll need to make a full set? Probably a couple more...heh heh...

Anyway, I'm really excited. Once I get off my ass, I'll upload some pics of the flyer for the show (which I'm really proud of) and my design for a needlepoint mesh cd case. Anybody have any T-shirt ideas?

possible release title...

I came across something very awesome: the Alphabet War.
Now, don't get me wrong, there's nothing awesome about dyslexia, but this title brings many, many other images into my head that have nothing to do with a boy who can't read.

If you're looking for a sweet band name, it's probably not taken. If we find out that Tapeworms is some semi-successful metal band on Victory or something, I'm sure we'd use it in a second.

OUR FIRST SHOW EVER!!!!!

I am really excited. We will be playing our FIRST SHOW on friday, sep.21 2007, at the Outback Lodge here in c-ville. Do not confuse the Outback Lodge with Outback Steakhouse, like a friend of mine did earlier this week.
We'll be playing with Blur the Lines and Adam Smith's Invisible Hand. I'm not sure what the order will be yet, but we'll probably be second or last (since Dave doesn't get off work til 10:30ish).
We have A LOT of work to do before then, but we've got a couple weeks. I don't think we'll have anything but our songs to share, since we haven't recorded anything yet and I haven't made any T-shirts or anything, but I can't wait to see how it goes.
I've set up a myspace page for us, as well as a flickr page for photos. I figure the easier it is to update stuff, the more often it'll get updated. For other band's webstuffs that I've done, you have to delete and upload files to list new shows, and it's just a PITA. If I new how to develop a website that made all that stuff easy, I wouldn't be working a crappy night job. So, I think we'll just let myspace, flickr, and blogspot do the work for us.
Anyway, hope to see you at the show!!!!
